One of our businesses, Lowland Medical Services, is specialised in Medical Care, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). Lowland Medical Services provides highly trained and very experienced doctors and medics for locations far removed from local medical facilities, such as drilling rigs, diving support vessels, cable lay barges, as well as temporary onshore sick bays. This could be on the Maasvlakte in the Netherlands, or somewhere in Western Africa. We also supply specialised medics to hospitals’ Intensive Care units and Emergency Rooms.
The medics are able to perform the same tasks that you would expect to be provided by a general practitioner or paramedic. The position of medic is often combined with that of safety coordinator. Our medics are specially trained to fill this role and are also known as HSE advisers for this reason, as they are able to do much more than simply provide first aid.
Medical backup and medical support from doctors on shore is equally available, and in some cases, legally required. If requested, experienced doctors are available to support our medics at all times.
Lowland Medical Services can also set up complete temporary sick-bay’s, fully fitted with equipment and medicines, and suitable for providing medical assistance in remote areas.
Moreover, Lowland Medical Services is specialised in establishing sick bays on newly built vessels, offshore facilities and drilling platforms in accordance with legal prescriptions.
