Lowland Marine & Offshore is searching for a QHSE Officer. The QHSE Officer is an individual with team spirit and a determination to get the job done, with a keen eye for day to day operation of a vessel and a strong affinity for the offshore world. The QHSE Officer assists the Vessels and Vessel Superintendents with the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the Vessel Management System with a specific focus on QHSE and Security issues. The QHSE Officer reports to the QHSE Manager.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Gives adequate support to the vessels assigned to him/her on Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Security related issues.
- Closely co-operates with the Vessel Superintendents on day-to-day matters to ensure an uninterrupted Safe & Secure operation of the vessels.
- Assists with incident investigations, the close-out of non conformities and other audit findings.
- Monitors the implementation and maintenance of prescribed QHSE and Security standards on the vessels and conducts ISM/ISPS audits.
- Develops and drafts new QHSE/security procedures, forms or other documentation.
- Maintains and keeps the QHSE/security documentation and records up-to date and organised.
- Keeps up-to-date with relevant legislation and standards.
- Assists the QHSE Manager as required.

Requirements
- 3 years relevant working experience gained in the shipping/offshore industry as a mariner.
- Higher vocational level (BSc).
- Sound knowledge of shipping industry legislation and industry standards.
- Pragmatic, stress resistant and decisive team player with excellent planning and communication skills.
- Willing to travel approximately once a month (for short trips).
- Excellent verbal and written knowledge of the English language.
- Advanced user of MS Office applications.
- Eager to provide an active input on QHSE and Security matters in a rapidly expanding international organisation.
