- Age: between 28-35 years.
- Education: Naval Academy minimum 1st off brevet/(master licence always a plus).
- Experience: the candidate should already have worked as 1st officer (in charge of cargo operations) at least since 2 years, preferably on various types of vessels.
- All experience in planning project cargoes is an asset.
- Ship’s knowledge: General cargo/Bulkers/containers (we are in principle not interested in experience on tankers or gas carrier).
- Requirements: able to read & make a prestow/stowage plan without the use of a computer.
- Understanding the limits of a vessel (based at least on info received in C/P).
- Work load: needs to be flexible, not being afraid of long working hours.
- Able to adjust himself to all kind of people (crew & stevedores, etc ), all kinds of ships, of weather condition.
- Location: preferably living in or willing to move to Belgium.
- Languages: good spoken and written English, knowledge of French and Dutch appreciated.
- Should be available as soon as possible.
Tasks (depending of his experience)
To start you will have to attend ships in ports and be in charge of the loading supervision. As soon as possible, you will in addition need to be able to draw prestow plans on your own and realise them on the field.
