For a cruise vessel company sailing worldwide we are looking for a Hotel Manager.

Requirements

Task and responsibilities
- Planning and organization of the operation during all hotel operation and special events.
- Coordination and professionalism in the use of manpower, machinery, utensils and material.
- In charge of the professional use, cleaning and maintenance of the machinery and utensils in the whole hotel department.
- Control of the quality and quantity of all production in the hotel department.
- Securing a professional cost controlled service and offer.
- Control of the reception of products regarding quality, quantity and the correct storage.
• Coordination of ordering with the storekeeper and the Executive chef.
• Organizing of FIFA (first in, first out) in the cooler and deep freezers.
• Organization and controlling of proper requisitions for the whole hotel department.

- Giving or organizing cooking- and napkin folding lessons for the passengers.

- Competent training, judgement and support of colleagues.

- Organizing crew trainings for all hotel departments on a weekly basis. Training guidelines used are the Hotel Procedure Manual and the USPH/HACCP.

- Adapt the rules of USPH and HACCP in the whole working area.

- Preparing with the department heads one Food & Beverage and one investment budget for the following season.

- In charge in cooperation with the Executive chef, Head barman and Head waiter of the pot-, glass- and dish wash areas.

- In charge with the Purser for the administration and reservation of all matters in the hotel department.

- In charge with the Purser and Asst. Purser for the administration and selling in the Sloop Shop.

- In charge of the Cruise Director and in cooperation of control of  Sports, Entertainment and Masseuse.

- In cooperation with the housekeeper in charge of all interests in this department.

- Information to the superior of all unregular activities in the Hotel Department.

- Cooperation with other departments.

- Integration in the Team and assistance and performance in special activities. Daily duties:
• Checking the breakfast set up every morning.
• Meeting with the cabin stewards around 08:00 AM.
• Captains meeting at 09:30 AM.
• Checking the dining room during the breakfast. Make sure the buffet is always nicely refilled and every table has at least two clean set ups till 10:00 AM.
• Regarding the situation a daily meeting with the Chef, Head waiter and Storekeeper at around 10:30AM.
• Daily spot checks with regard to cleanliness in all Hotel depts.: cabins, public areas, galleys, stores aso.
• Control/checking of Dining room prior to/and during opening hrs Lunch/dinner.
• Checking the Cocktail hour at 05:00 PM.
• Present in the dining room from 06:45 PM till at least 08:45 PM to greet guests and place them at their table and fulfilling the roll his host.
• On Embarkation days the Hotel Manager is at the Gangway to bid fare-well to departing and arriving pax.. He will verify the respect of standard (dis)embarkation procedures in conjunction with CD/Captain.

It is an obligation for a Hotel manager to be present in the dining room during the service time as well as being a host on Embarkation days. The office work should not collide with the service hours in the dining room. It is the duty of the Hotel manager to check and assist his crew to perform a good job in their department.
