Lowland Marine & Offshore is searching for a Contracts Manager New Building. The Contracts Manager New Building is an individual with team spirit and a determination to get the job done, with a keen eye for day to day operation of a vessel and a strong affinity for the offshore world. The contracts Manager will be mainly involved in setting up the Contracts Department to support the extensive New Building Program. In that role the Contracts Manager will look after the contractual interests towards vessel construction yards during the phases of pre-selection, award and construction period.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Follow up on contractual issues which rise from the new building projects.
- Lead complex contractual negotiations.
- Enters into contracts with sub-contractors and suppliers for vessel new building and refit projects.
- Make amendments to contractual documents.
- Contribute to the business development of the company and evaluate the needs of customers and clients.
- Act as ‘middleman’ between the New Building Project Managers and Legal specialists. Act as single point of contact to the legal specialists and supervise/instruct them on way forward.
- On all standard and nonstandard contracts, provide redlined recommendations and often negotiate directly with counterpart attorneys or counter contract party until consensus has been reached.
- As needed, provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff, including training to new project managers and other employees in contracting practices and procedures.
- Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. As appropriate, contribute to or influence company policies.
- Perform risk analyses on contracts.

Requirements

Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- HBO/WO degree.
- Experience with vessel new building contracts and/or experience in a marine environment.
- Negotiation skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written knowledge of the English language.
